Have you heard about
the female image of God?
It is commonly known that the World Mission Society Church of God is different from other Christian churches. The teachings can seem very foreign, even to someone who is familiar with the Bible.
Though the teachings, practices and beliefs may seem different at first, they can all be found in the Bible. This is the reason why the World Mission Society Church of God is considered the fastest growing faith in the world today. People are streaming to the WMSCOG because they can all attest and agree that they never studied the Bible or seen this truth in other churches before.
Then what are some teachings in the Church of God that separates it from all the other churches?
Well, it kind of all begins with one question, “Have you ever heard about the female image of God?
Yes. The female image of God.
You may have been asked this once, twice, hey… maybe even seven times at the mall or at the university.
Some may think it’s a new theory, or a new idea. Others believe it’s just another false teaching from a cult.
Well, we believe there really is a female image of God?
1. Why does the World Mission Society Church of God believe there is a female image of God?
Let us take a look at the Creation of God.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
We all believe that God created the heavens and the earth. God created everything that is visible and invisible. But as mere human beings, we can only see the things God created with our physical eyes.
Everything that God created was created with a purpose. As the Bible teaches, nothing was created in without a purpose or in vain.
When you take a look at all of God’s creation, God was very detailed and thorough.
2. What did God want to show us through His Creation? What did God want to teach us?
Romans 1:19-20 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
We can agree that we can’t see God, and we all question what does Gods look like. But when we take a closer look at this verse, the Word of God specifically says
“what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.”
Then, can anyone say it is hard to understand God?
How did the Creator God make it plain for us to understand God?
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made so that men are without excuse.”
God has made it plain for us to understand God through everything that He has created. We have absolutely no excuse because all we have to do is take a look at God’s Creation and we can see His divine nature. We can see God’s essence through His Creation.
3. What did God create in order for us to see his divine nature?
Let us take a look back at the Creation.
Genesis 1:26 “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
We have been raised our whole lives to believe that there is only one God. Right?
If there is only one Creator God, why does God refer to Himself as “us.” Why does God use a plural noun?
If there is only one God, shouldn’t He had said “Let me make mankind,” or “I will make mankind in my image.”
Instead we see, God used the words “Let us, our image, and our likeness.”
Clearly, by reading Genesis 1:26, the Creator God who created human beings is not one but plural.
Then, what is the plural image of God that mankind was created in?
Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
What is the image of God? The image of God is male and female. On this earth, there are male and there are also females. Males were created in the male image of God. From whose image were the females on this earth created? They were created from the female image of God.
The Creator God through His Creation wanted to reveal to us His image so that we are without excuse. The male image of God we call God our Father and the female image of God we call God our Mother.
These verses alone proof that there are two Creator Gods, a male image of God and a female image of God. We are not proclaiming God to have physical attributes in the spiritual world as some try to accuse us of, but that there are two images of God.
All other churches only believe in the male image of God, but clearly from the beginning of the Bible, on the first page, we can see that there are two images of God, a male and a female image of God.
That is why at the World Mission Society Church of God, we believe there is God the Father and God the Mother.
Are these the only verses that we use to believe in the male and female image of God? No, There are many other verses and prophecies in the Bible that proof the existence of the female image of God, God the Mother.
